Logan Township clerk resigns

LOGAN TWP. — Logan Township now has a new clerk, as former clerk Dee Ponak resigned from the board Feb. 3, according to Township Supervisor Kathy David.

David said she is not sure why Ponak chose to resign, but that she said in her resignation letter that her health is more important to her.

During the board’s Feb. 3 meeting, the board voted 4-0 to appoint Tonya Schagel as the new township clerk. David said Ponak had served on the board for one year, and that Schagel will serve the remainder of the term, which is up this November.

Schagel was sworn in during the board’s Feb. 3 meeting.
