Jeff Patrus
Michael Burwell, Executive Director of the Kids Against Hunger Coalition of Michigan, speaks to youngsters at St. Joseph Elementary school Feb. 25.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, students at St. Joseph Elementary School in West Branch, along with volunteers from the West Branch community, gathered to measure and package food for the Kids Against Hunger Program. The students set up an assembly line at the school for measuring, mixing, packaging and sealing of food packages. One-third of the food is to be shipped overseas, while one-third stays in the Ogemaw County community and another one-third is to be stored in case of emergency.
