About 120 people attended a Michigan Works- and Economic Development Corporation-sponsored panel discussion regarding hydraulic fracturing Wednesday, Aug. 29. The discussion, which was held at the West Branch Community Center, included experts from the Department of Environmental Quality, oil and natural gas consultants and experts, environmental consultants and members of the Friends of the Au Gres Rifle Watershed. Members of the panel gave presentations stating their sides of the issue, and then questions, which were written on cards and submitted the to event's moderator, EDC Board Chairman Rick Benjamin, were presented to the panel to be answered.
