Results for Goodar Township clerk stay the same after recount

GOODAR TWP. — There was no change to the results from the August primary election for Goodar Township clerk after a recount Sept. 11, according to Ogemaw County Clerk Gary Klacking.

Incumbent Township Clerk Cindy Weingartz filed for the recount after losing to Kristine DeTroyer by one vote in the primary, 47-46. Klacking said the results remained the same after the recount with DeTroyer winning by one vote.

“Everything went smoothly,” Klacking said of the recount.

Barring a write-in candidate, DeTroyer will see no further opposition in November.
