Chamber members honored at annual Chamber Ball

WEST BRANCH — Seven chamber members were honored at the annual West Branch Chamber Ball Saturday, Feb. 17, receiving outstanding business awards. 

Businesses were nominated in five categories, with awards also given for visionary and person of achievement. 

The event, which was held at the Forward Conference Center, also featured a silent auction, live auction, dinner and dancing.

Award winners:

Visionary Award: Victorian Art Fair

Person of Achievement: Ted Boomer, owner of Tim Hortons of West Branch

New Member Business of the Year: Buck’s Country Cookin’. Other nominees were Aunt Effy’s Craft Closet, Compassionate Veterinary Care, Ogemaw Pharmacy and Vault 302. 

Community Involvement: West Branch District Library. Other nominees were Chemical Bank, First United Methodist Church, Lovewell’s Corner Store and West Branch Veterinary Services.

Excellence: Dean Arbour Ford of West Branch. Other nominees were Ding’s Excavating, District Health Department No. 2, Green Briar Golf Course and Mercantile Bank. 

Nonprofit of the Year: Hospice of Helping Hands. Other nominees were Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis Club of West Branch, Ogemaw Genealogical and Historical Society and Optimist Club of West Branch. 

Business Leadership: Ogemaw County Voice. Other nominees were Griffin Beverage Company, Morse Clark Furniture Company, The Silver Lining and Tim Horton’s of West Branch.
