Hundreds of unserviceable flags retired at Skidway Lake Flag Day ceremony


Hundreds of unserviceable flags that had been collected over the past year were retired during a ceremony at the Skidway Lake American Legion Post Thursday, June 14. The ceremony was part of Flag Day, which occurs every June 14. It was established in 1937 as a way to provide proper disposal to the American flag. A group of American Legion members as well as members of the public gathered to witness the annual ceremony.
