Jeffrey Anderson, 66, of Rose City passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017.

He was born March 1, 1951, to Rex “Bud” Anderson and Betty Lou (Hall) Anderson-Matthews in West Branch.

He lived most of his life in Rose City, until he graduated from high school in 1969 and joined the Army in December 1969. He served with the 8th Field Artillery in Germany until he was discharged in November 1971. He began his career in 1972 as an ironworker for Local 25, which he took much pride in. He became disabled in 1988 and moved to Florida’s Gulf Coast, where he enjoyed the beach, boating and off-road jeeping. He was active with the American Legion and local chapter of the Army Airborne Association. He returned to Rose City in 2010.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Jody (John) Dantzer of West Branch; son, Mike (Jill) Anderson of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashlyn and Ally Dantzer, and Anthony, Zachary and Alexis Mariash; his brother, Jerry (Sallie) Anderson; sister, Lisa (George Jr.) Matthews; stepfather, George Matthews Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty and Bud; and granddaughter, Arika Dantzer.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be a celebration of his life Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Trapper’s Bar & Grill in Rose City. A veterans ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. with luncheon to follow at noon.
