Late snow makes for great Snow Box Derby

As of Friday it looked doubtful that there would be enough snow for this year's Snow Box Derby in Rose City.

But a storm Saturday and overnight Sunday provided a perfect blanket for the participants to race on and the event went off Feb. 4 without a hitch.

Around 15 sleds participated in the annual event. Races were split into four classes — 6 and younger, 7-10, 11-13 and business. Prizes were awarded to the winners, as well as best design, most original and most colorful sleds.
