Local leaders on rooftop for Fourth of July fireworks fundraiser

WEST BRANCH –– The West Branch Fireworks committee hosted a Rockin’ the Rooftop event Friday, May 19 in which several local leaders were on the McDonald’s rooftop throughout the day and couldn’t come down until enough donations were made.

The leaders on the rooftop included Sheriff Howie Hanft, West Branch-Rose City School Superintendent Phil Mikulski, Ogemaw Heights High School Principal Ben Doan and Surline Middle School Principal Wendy Tuttle.

The event was live broadcasted on 94.5 “The Moose” by radio host Jodi K.

The proceeds went toward the West Branch Fourth of July fireworks, which cost approximately $14,000 to put on each year.

Participants could donate in the drive-thru or inside with their meal purchases.
