WEST BRANCH — Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Deputy Branden Kirby responded to a two-vehicle personal injury accident at the intersection of Houghton Avenue and Valley Road at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 11.

Two vehicles, a Buick Encore and a GMC Sonoma, were traveling eastbound on Houghton Avenue when the 53-year-old West Branch female driving the Encore began to slow and initiate a northbound turn onto Valley. The driver of the Sonoma was issued a citation for failure to stop within an assured clear distance.

Kirby said both drivers reported minor injuries but were treated and released by Ogemaw County EMS personnel.

Also assisting in the accident were Ogemaw County Central Dispatch, West Branch Police, D & N Towing and Ogemaw Fire Department.
