Mutts to march through Irons Park for eighth year

WEST BRANCH — For the eighth year in a row the Ogemaw County Humane Society will be hosting its annual Mutt March Sept. 9, aimed at raising awareness and funds for the shelter.

Each year dogs and their owners join volunteers and staff from the humane society for fun at the event held at Irons Park.

This year the event will feature agility demonstrations, basic dog training tips and a variety of vendors from jewelry-makers to essential oils for pets.

The event also features a variety of contests for the dogs such as the ugliest, cutest and the highest pledge earner.

Owners will also be able to get their dogs microchipped for $25.

Registration for the event is $10, with all proceeds going to the animal shelter.

The event will be held Sept. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, call 989-343-7387.
