Rhoda M. Moelter, 69, of Prescott passed away peacefully Monday morning, Dec. 18, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Rhoda was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Rev. Raymond and Hilda (Fiehler) Moelter. She attended Whittemore-Prescott High School, graduating in 1965. Rhoda earned a Bachelor of Arts in music (organ) from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and served as organist and choir director for churches in four states. She worked as an accountant for the New York Metropolitan Opera Guild, then returned to Michigan in 1989, where she managed the office at RE Glancy in Tawas City. Rhoda was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Au Gres, where she played the organ and directed the choir for many years. She sang with the North Shore Choraleers, accompanied local students at solo and ensemble, and volunteered at the Ogemaw County Humane Society. She loved to read.

Rhoda is survived by her sister, Chrysteen Moelter-Gray of Grand Haven; brother, Stephen (Cynthia) Moelter of Freeland; nieces, Destiny (Scott) Campbell and Samantha Moelter (Matthew Kull); two great-nieces and four great-nephews; and her two dogs, Cooper and Chili, and four cats, Elvis, Simon, Allman and Bruce.

Visitation for Rhoda will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1264 S. Tonkey Rd., Au Gres, MI 48703. The funeral service will take place 11 a.m. (in state 10 a.m.) Friday, Dec. 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor Rheanna Goodrich will officiate with interment following in Richland Township Cemetery in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Ogemaw County Humane Society. Online condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
