Died Aug. 31, 2017


Richard Allen Kraxner, 79, of Rose City passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side.

Richard was born Sept. 30, 1937, in Bay City to the late John and Myrtle (Neview) Kraxner. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and traveling whenever he could. Richard was a carpenter, belonging to Carpenters Union Local 202 for 60 years.

Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Lou; one son, Charles (Debbie) Kraxner; one daughter, Dawn VanTol; and two stepsons, Danny Gerou and Timothy Gerou. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, John Kraxner; one daughter, Susan Kraxner; one stepson, Jackie Gerou; one brother, John Kraxner; and two sisters, Wanda Hite and Joan Chuicshank.

According to Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at his residence Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, from 3-6 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel.
