Shirley June Williams, 88, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at West Branch Regional Medical Center.

Shirley was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Lincoln Park to Everett and Lavina (Simpson) Cann. Shirley worked at Security Bank and Trust as a loan officer for 31 years. In 1990, Shirley retired from the bank and moved to Gladwin next door to her family, where she worked for her son at Williams Builders for 21 years. She attended Faith Alive Church with her family and enjoyed attending the weekly services at The Brook. She was an usher at the Dow Event Center for many years and belonged to an exercise group that swam at Sugar Springs. Shirley enjoyed reading, crafts, cross-stitching and traveling the world. She was very close to her grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly.

Shirley is survived by her son, Robert (Kathy) Williams of Gladwin; grandchildren, Megan (Lee) Heintz and Travis (Bridget) Williams, both of Gladwin; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ayden, Gavin, Hadassah, Emersyn and Barrett; sister, Merretta Giertz of Southgate; brothers, Jim (Chris) Cann of Florida and Evert (Luann) Cann of Gladwin; and close friends, Cece Robinson and Bonnie Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandson, Levi Heintz.

Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin. Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Online condolences can be shared at www.steuernolmclaren.com.
