Single-vehicle accident sends Alger man to hospital

WEST BRANCH — Ogemaw County sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle personal injury rollover accident on State Road between M-33 and Campbell Road around 3:15 p.m. Aug. 11.

Deputy Leigh David said a 56-year-old Alger man was pulling a utility trailer and traveling eastbound on State Road when, according to witnesses, his trailer began swerving and the driver reportedly lost control and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road.

The man suffered injuries in the accident but David said he was responsive and was being transported by Ogemaw County EMS to West Branch Regional Medical Center for treatment.
