WEST BRANCH — A two-vehicle collision sent two area men to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries late Friday afternoon.

Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Weishuhn said the two vehicles collided when a 23-year-old male driver traveling westbound on State Road hit the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected and entered the lane of travel of another vehicle.

Weishuhn said the account was according to witnesses on scene.

The other vehicle, driven by a 69-year-old male from Rose City, was sent off the south side of State Road and collided with a tree.

Weishuhn said both men were transported by Ogemaw County EMS to MidMichigan Medical Center - West Branch and are expected to make a complete recovery.

Because of the location of the accident which occurred near the intersection of Finerty and State Road, the Ogemaw Fire Department assisted EMS and sheriff’s deputies with the vehicle occupants and traffic. The road was blocked off for a period of time while emergency crews helped the drivers and D&N Towing worked to clear the scene.
