WB-RC schools hosting public forum on sinking fund millage

Posted

WEST BRANCH — The West Branch-Rose City Area Schools board will be hosting a public informational forum Sept. 10 to address its upcoming Sinking Fund Millage.

Superintendent Phil Mikulski said the meeting will detail the district’s spending plan if the millage is approved.

“We have a tentative plan on how we will spend each of those dollars,” he said.

Mikulski said the district’s plan focuses on three areas — maintenance, security and technology.

The millage is estimated to generate approximately $470,000 per year and the district’s eight-year spending plan is detailed out in two year increments.

Mikulski said the meeting is an open forum and will have designated time for questions and answers.

The decision to hold the informational forum was because the district received input after the previous request failed stating people didn’t feel informed on the millage, according to Mikulski.

The meeting will be held Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in the library at Ogemaw Heights.
