Saving the world, one species at a time 989-387-8929 Mrs. Winter’s class at Surline Elementary in West Branch recently held a writing competition.

The West Branch-Rose City Area Schools Board of Education took time at its Apr. 17 meeting to appreciate the service of five long-term employees of the district. Mary Ann Krzyminski and Lisa Stewart have served for 35 years; and Stacy Gildner, Sheila Smiley and Toni Thomas haved served 25 years.

Judson Baptist Church in Prescott hosted its inaugural Easter Egg Hunt Apr. 8. The church had Easter egg hunts for three different age groups outside. There was a jellybean guessing game and different crafts to do such as making a necklace or coloring a bookmark. After the egg hunt, each child got a goody bag filled with treats.
