Falcons top Houghton Lake

Ogemaw Heights’ very own Nik Klein threw a no-hitter to blank Houghton Lake 12-0 in the first game of a double header Apr. 13. The Falcons secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the first inning. Robbie Hock, Nolan Hines, TJ Bailey, Angel Potter, and Kooper Klann each drove in runs during the inning. Nik Klein went five innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, and striking out eight.

Mabe dives at regionals

At last weekend’s Independent Swim Conference Meet, Hunter Mabe of Ogemaw Heights High School earned himself a trip to Diving Regionals, hosted by Mason High School, south of Lansing. Hunter traveled there Thursday, Mar. 2 to compete against 16 other divers from other Division 3 high schools. All 17 divers threw their first eight dives, followed by the field being cut to 15.

Ogemaw Heights boys’ bowling team update On Saturday February 18, the Ogemaw Heights boys’ bowling team traveled to Vista Lanes in Oscoda for Conference Singles Tournament. The format was a four-game set and Colin Mathewson took first place.

Swim team competes at conference

On Friday, February 24, the Ogemaw Heights Falcons traveled to Saginaw Valley State University to begin the first of our two-day Conference Championship meet. Friday consisted of the preliminary rounds of all nine individual events. Of our 19 swims that evening, 15 were personal best times.
