Bruce John Jameson, age 83 of West Branch, MI, passed away on March 6, 2023.

Bruce was born on June 2, 1939, in West Branch, to the late Lillian (Brindley) and Earl “Jake” Jameson. Bruce graduated from West Branch High School in 1957. He went to work for Oseola Refinery until it closed. After that he was employed by the Greenbriar Golf Course in 2002 where he started as the head groundskeeper and eventually became the superintendent. On May 18, 1963, he married the love of his life, Sharon Thomas and they had three wonderful daughters. In his free time, Bruce enjoyed working in the woods, hunting, and watching birds. At home he enjoyed watching football, many sports teams, and westerns, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. start the Little League, the Saddle Bums Riding Club, and was a founding member of the Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Posse.

Bruce is survived by his daughters Jeani (Dale) Vermillion of Mexico, MO, Janie (Ron) Baumgarten of Portland, TN and Jacki Jameson of West Branch; brothers Robert (Rosemary) Jameson and Roger (Jean Ann) Jameson of West Branch; sisters Donna (Jerry) McClain, Linda (Roger) Klecker of Manton, MI and Joyce (Kenneth) Gildner of West Branch; grandchildren Brandi (Ted) Brauker, Synamon Jameson (Warren), Bruce (Angela) Vermillion, Jordan (Ashley) Criss, Brock Vermillion, Nicholas Wilkins and Emilee Wilkins; great-grandchildren Aemelia, Cecilia, Olivia, Sharon, Marion and Teddy Brauker, Taylor, Tucker and Jackson Schimke, and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his spouse, Sharon Jameson and brothers Wayne, Richard, Don, and Jim Jameson.

Per Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held March 11, 2023, 1-5 p.m. at Churchill Township Hall, officiant, Helen Alford. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Ogemaw Commission on Aging, 1528 M-33, West Branch, MI, 48661.
