Ingrid Mary Simpson, age 76, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at MediLodge of Sterling, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 30, 1946, in Kalkaska, MI to Claude and Eva (Shepherdson) Rowley. Ingrid lived in Sterling, MI for the past three years, formerly from Forest Lake in Alger, MI.
Ingrid graduated from Mancelona High School.
She helped start the Moffatt Township EMT program with many other individuals and worked as an EMT for several years before attending Kirtland Community College to pursue her degree as a nurse. She graduated with honors as an LPN in 1978.

Ingrid was a neonatal nurse and worked in the healthcare field for over 40 years.
Ingrid was a simple person and enjoyed baking wedding cakes and growing a vegetable garden.
She loved going on road trips and never pulled out a map. She was always up for an adventure.
Ingrid is survived by her son Paul (Barbara “Brandy”) Boss of Alger; granddaughter Jasmine (Omar Clark) Boss of Prescott; great-grandchildren Carter L. Boss, Omar Clark-Boss, Ymir Clark-Boss, and another greatgrandbaby on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Loring Simpson Jr., son Loring Edward Simpson III, brothers Claude Rowley Jr., Charles Brumm, and David Rowley, and sister Cora Brumm.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. No service is scheduled.
