Jerry Lee Smith passed away on April 12, 2023, with family by his side.

He was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 27, 1952, to the late Alford and Vida (Speerman) Smith. He was married to Eileen in 1973; they raised their two daughters. Many years later, in 2007, Jerry married Deborah Ann Gillespie.

Jerry was an X-Ray Technician at Medfield Hospital. He then was offered further training through Sparrow Hospital to expand his knowledge of ultrasound. Jerry worked and retired from Tolfree Hospital in West Branch, Michigan in 2007.

having the ability to fix just about anything that was broken. He enjoyed helping people at work and in his personal life.

Jerry and Deborah were extremely active in Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) Jerry opened the Thursday evening meetings in Standish for 12 years. He was honored to call his A.A. friends his other family.

Jerry is survived by his wife Deborah Smith; three daughters and one son: Kristin Schauger of Flint, MI, Jenny (Jasynn) Dings of West Branch, Jessica Reed of Standish, MI, and Mike Reed of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Surviving Jerry also is his sister Rosemary Abbott.

Jerry is preceded in death by brother Donald, mother Vida, father Alford, grandson Elyot, and sister-in-law Joann.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel , with Pastor Doug Basset presiding.
