Maud R. Kroczaleski

Maud R. (Walter) Kroczaleski of Sterling, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 29, 2023, at the age of 89. Maud was born in West Branch, Michigan on September 13, 1933 to Harold and Celia (Kimball) Walter. She and Bernard (Ben) Kroczaleski were married on May 12, 1951 in West Branch.

In their early years of marriage, they often lived where work was available in West Branch and surrounding areas. In the mid-1950s, they moved to the Sterling Rd./Grove Rd. area, and after a few years moved to what would become their permanent home on Sterling Road near Sterling.

Maud worked with her family cleaning houses and also had regular cleaning jobs in West Branch. She later worked at Standish Products, McTaggart Wholesale and Twisty Freeze. Her greatest joys in life were family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she loved family gatherings. She was a wonderful homemaker and a friend to everyone.

Maud loved mowing the grass and working in her flower beds and was still doing all of her own work.

She was looking forward to getting outdoors and in the sunshine again this year. She and Ben loved traveling the country in their motorhome and visited 49 states and Canada Died April 29, 2023

during their vacationing years. Her helping ways, good heart, and friendliness will be missed by many, and dearly missed by her family.

Maud is survived by her children, Kim (Kim Ann) Kroczaleski, Kathleen (Charles) McBride, Karlia Kroczaleski-Raymond and Kevin Kroczaleski. She is also survived by grandchildren, Heath (Becky) Kroczaleski, Beth (Tom) McGough, Rachel (Jason) Vallad, Wyatt (Kari) Kroczaleski, Candace (Terry) View, Casey (Chris) Gwisdala, Lyle (Cassie) Kroczaleski, Marsha Raymond, Michelle (Dennis) Brougham, and Michael (Elizabeth) Raymond, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Joyce Walters, Betty Kroczaleski and Monica Kroczaleski; one brotherin- law, Don Kroczaleski; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Bernard (Ben) Kroczaleski; father and mother Harold and Celia Walter, motherin- law and father-in-law Stanley and Valeria Kroczaleski; brother Bill Walters; son-in-law James Raymond; brother-in-law John Kroczaleski, brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Irene Jurek, sister-inlaw Adeline Kroczaleski, brother-in-law Paul Kroczaleski; and grandsons Isaac and Austin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel, Yevette Chisholm presiding, with burial in Sterling Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday at Church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
