Roy Richard Wolfe, age 97, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Maple Ridge Living Center in Lake City, MI. He was born on June 7, 1925, in Monroe, IN to Espa Ranza and Bertha (Bailey) Wolfe. Roy lived in Lupton since 1998, formerly of St. Helen.
Roy served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945. He married Bernice Bridges on December 28, 1946.
He was a member of the West Branch Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Roy served pastorates in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia in both the Church of the Nazarene and the Missionary Church. He also worked in Iran for two years where he ministered to his fellow workers.
Roy is survived by his son David (Carolyn) Wolfe; daughters Dianne (Jon) Reece and Deborah (Robin) Charles; grandchildren Angela (Craig) Pullen, Stephen (Jennifer) Wolfe, Robin (Jacob) Cooper, Tammy (Ryan) Redwine, Carrie (Tracey) Colson, Joe (Mellie) Reece, Shelly (Gene) Lucas, Anne (Eddie) Newell and David (Carrie) Moody; 22 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; brother Robert (Donna) Wolfe; sisters Lucille Railing, Deola Faye Foreman, Jean Mc-Bride and Tootie Higgins; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bernice, son Daniel S. Wolfe, grandchildren Lena Wolfe, Erica Wolfe, and Daniel Wolfe, and brothers Norman, Edward, Merlen and Mert.
The funeral service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, May 20, 2023. at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. His son, Pastor David Wolfe, will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen. Pastor Jon Reece will officiate the interment.
