The Whittemore-Prescott varsity football team shut Hillman out 42-0 Aug. 25.
“They really came out an played like a team,” said Coach Joe Murphy.
Sam Vyner scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Christian Tocco scored a touchdown from a pass by Bill LaFranca. Tocco, assisted by LaFranca scored another touchdown in the third quarter.
Vyner scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, one carried and the other an assist from LaFranca.
“We made some mistakes on the offense in the first half,” continued Murphy. “But our defense stood tall and didn’t allow Hillman to turn those turnovers into points.”
“In the second half, our offense got going and our defense stayed strong,” added Murphy.
