Alice Elizabeth Segar, 99, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at The Brook in West Branch. She was born on September 10, 1920 in Pellston, MI to William and Nellie (Butcher) Crothers. Alice lived in West Branch for the past 33 years, formerly of Birch Run. She married Richard Segar in Waterloo, IN on January 31, 1953. She was a member of Churchill United Methodist Church for over 30 years, United Methodist Women and the West Branch Creative Arts Association. She was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered with the March of Dimes. Alice worked as a librarian in the Birch Run Schools for 20 years. She participated in the Senior Olympics in Michigan and Florida where she won over 60 gold medals and also participated in the National Senior Olympics in 2007 in Louisville, KY where she won 2 gold medals. Alice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and fishing.

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Richard Segar of West Branch; children, Peggy Munson of Clio, Wesley (Carol) Segar of Bridgeport and Dawn (Andy) Rewa of Manton; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Larry Kriseler and great-granddaughter, Becky Munson.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Brenda Klacking will officiate. Burial will be at Flint Memorial.
