Ellis A. Teeples

Died May 16, 2019


Ellis Arnett Teeples, 88, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at his home in Rose City with his family all around him.

He was born May 30, 1930, in Rose City to Oscar and Georgianna (Atherton) Teeples. He lived in Rose City since 1993, formerly of Redford. Ellis worked at Fendt Transit Mix as a truck driver for 37 years. He belonged to the Lake St. Helen Baptist Church and loved to sing in the choir. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and stories, and loved to be around people.

Ellis is survived by his children, Karen Watkins (Monroe), Rhonda Raby, Jeff Teeples, Debbie (Nick) Ingram and Mike (Barb) Lord; grandchildren, Dorrie Leach, Jason Watkins, Matt (Heather) Raby, Shaun (Courtney) Raby, Angela Harper, Timmy Teeples, Dillion Tallent, Derek Tallent, Matt Lord, Christian Lord and Melissa (Hugh); great-grandchildren, Dixie (Patrick), Courtney (Jeremy), Kurstin Watkins, Kaylee Watkins, Dakota Wright, Brianna Harper, Evan Harper, Audrey, Scotty and Omelie Raby, Ethan and Trinity Wheeler, Caleb Adams and five more great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Arabella and LoreLai; brothers, Lewis (Betty) Teeples and Lavern (Louise) Teeples; and sisters, Deda Arntz and Betty Jean Avery.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ella Sue Teeples; second wife, Dolores Teeples; son, Tim Teeples; brothers, Lawrence, JR, Acel and Bobby; and sisters, Eva, Gladys, Dorothy and Catherine.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019, from 3-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home Monday, May 20, at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lane Heights Cemetery. Pastor Roger Green will officiate.
