Died July 9, 2019

Kelly DesJarden, 52, of Flint passed away suddenly in her home July 9, 2019.

Kelly was born May 29, 1967, in Alpena. She spent her youth in Gladwin County but ultimately settled in Flint, where she proudly lived until her passing.

Kelly was a beautiful soul, who loved all her children and grandchildren dearly. If her grandchildren were around, she would be entertaining and playing with them every second. She had a wicked green thumb and loved caring for her house plants. Kelly had a big, bold, infectious laugh, and it was rare to be around her and not be laughing. Later in life, Kelly became a tutor at Baker College, something she was immensely proud of.

Kelly is survived by her children, Mandi (John) Rett of Chelsea, Keonna (Tyler) Watkins of Grand Rapids, Deondrae (Cortney) DesJarden of West Branch, Lomar Butler of Flint, Destine DesJarden of West Branch and Jerome Hunter of Rapid City, S.D.; her grandchildren, Ali, Emmie, Gracie, Jaxen, Londyn, Juniper, Parker, Winnie, Leo and Ivory; her mother, Sandra LaFave; siblings, Randy, Amy and Michael, all of West Branch; and a huge family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her very much.

Kelly passed just one day before her sister Renee (David) Timmons of Gladwin.

The family and friends gathered together on a beautiful, sunny day shortly after her passing and celebrated her life with love and laughter.
