Power outages reported in Ogemaw County

UPDATE 8:38 a.m.: Power in the M-76 area has been restored. However, a new area north of Rose City Road and just east of M-33 has no power, affecting around 141 people. It was reported around 5:10 a.m. Friday. An estimated time of 2 p.m. Friday has been given. Crews have been assigned, and the cause is not yet determined, according to Consumers Energy.

The small area in Mills Township remains without power, with a restoration time of 9:15 a.m. Friday.

UPDATE 12:29 a.m.: The area west of Rose City appears to have been restored. An area affecting about 62 people was reported in Mills Township at 12:12 a.m. It includes Tammy Drive, Center Street and Cedar Circle. An estimated time of 6:30 a.m. has been given. It is awaiting assessment and the cause is not yet determined, according to Consumers Energy.

OGEMAW COUNTY — Power outages the night of Halloween are affecting around 1,000 people in Ogemaw County.

The Consumers Energy outage map shows the power outages affecting an area west of M-33 that stretches both north and south of Rose City Road, including approximately 767 people; and an area stretching along West M-76 past Exit 215, with around 199 people. There are also scattered outages around the county, each affecting fewer than 30 people.

The first listed outage was reported around 8:15 p.m., and the second around 7:44 p.m. Crews have been assigned to both large areas. The area west of Rose City has an estimated restoration time of 8:30 a.m. Friday. The area along M-76 has a time of 2 a.m. Friday.

According to Consumers Energy, the cause of the larger outage has not been determined. The cause of the M-76 area outage is listed as trees.
