Snow Box Derby takes over Rose City City Park


ROSE CITY — Area residents gathered together for the ninth annual Snow Box Derby Feb. 2 at Rose City City Park hosted by the Rose City Lions Club. Children ranging from under six years of age to 17, as well as businesses, braved the big hill in cardboard boxes showcasing their creativity. 

The four age categories racing on Saturday were the six and under group, won by Madeline McGregor; 7-10, won by Andrew Hall; 11-13, won by Chloe Lumley and 14-17, won by Bryce Berdan. Sunrise Cafe took first place in the business category. 

Participants also won a plaque and gift card for Most Original sled, won by Madeline McGregor, Best Design, won by Kiara Dent and Most Colorful, won by Kourtney Gillette.
