Steve Karl Hawkins was born June 23, 1953, in Flint, to Karl and Patricia (Rohl) Hawkins. Steve lived in Lupton since 2009, after retirement from General Motors Flint Truck Assembly. The first approximately fifty (50) years of his life, Steve Hawking (Hawk) was a motorcycle riding, party going, wild man who lived for the moment: eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you die. He consumed all that life in the natural had to offer. He worked hard, played hard, drank hard, fought hard and was the total natural man. He was jailed from time to time for relatively minor offenses. BUT then a wonderful change took over him and his life, when he finally surrendered his life to God. Then as much as he had lived for self, flesh and the devil, he now became a brand new creature in Christ Jesus.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Now for the last sixteen years of his life, he was in the ministry of reconciliation. Steve Hawkins went to prisons and jails to tell men that they were, like he had been, total lost perverted sinners, who (he told them) were on their way to hell and the lake of fire. BUT he told them that there was a heaven to gain and a hell from which to flee. The answer was humble yourself, repent of your life style, turn to Jesus. Make Jesus your Lord. Tell the devil to go to ... .

Steve Hawkins was now seen as an honest, loud, devil hating, preacher man. Brother Steve now loved life, and he had a Christian love for the men in jails and prisons.

Brother, Preacher, Steve Hawkins had become the worst nightmare for the devil. Hawk (as he was known) worked to snatch one after another man from being on his way to hell and the lake of fire. He plundered the devil’s kingdom and put more men on their way to heaven then most of us have in a lifetime, who grew up in the church. Hawk had become that Christian that you had been warned about. Brother Steve loved God and hated the devil and all that the devil wanted to do to men. He fought the devil with all his strength, that God had given him.

He became a member of Bible Baptist Church and Rock of Ages Ministries. Steve Hawkins was in church when he was not out telling others in jail or a nursing home that God loved them and had a plan for their life. Hawk also told them the devil hated them and wanted them dead and in hell right now! He told them to CHOOSE NOW!

DON”T BE NO FOOL! No one, he taught them is guaranteed tomorrow. Choose Jesus NOW! No one is guaranteed tomorrow.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24

He was passionate about traveling throughout Michigan spreading the word of God through jails and prisons and not just rehabilitating inmates so they could be good children of the devil. Hawk told them there was only One Way to Heaven. It was through Jesus Christ our Lord. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
