The Fans Rejoice

First and foremost, let's thank the boys in silver and Honolulu blue for their outstanding victory this past Sunday. In stellar fasion the Lions dispatched the Rams 44-6 for their first win of the season.

This coming weekend the Lions will travel to New York and face off against the 3-2 Giants. Current lines set the Lions in the loss column by a 10 point spread. Injury reports, and general Lions news thus far are leaving us guessing as to who will suite up this weekend. Matthew stafford is progressing in his shoulder rehab, but Hill will be the starting quarterback to face off agains the Giants. As of today there was no definitive word regarding the severity of WR Calvin Johnson's shoulder injury. Jahvid Best is apparently still nursing a toe injury according the Lion's injury report, but fortunately there is no indication it would keep him out of this week's game.

Overall, coach Schwartz was pleased with this past Sunday's results. The team met several personal challenges against the Rams, which clearly paid off and helped the Lions notch a mark in the win column. Shawn Hill really took charge and led the offense, and the defense finally seemed to work as a team to keep a handle on big plays. Hopefully the injuries don't keep out key players and the momentum from their first victory can speed them to another.

All in all, it was really exciting to see the Lions win. After all of the disappointment, a victory becomes that much sweeter. There wasn't a bad call in the world that could have stopped them last weekend, and for all the love, the fans finally had something to cheer about. Here's to a commanding victory, and hopefully more to come. Good luck this weekend boys.
