Elaine was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Anna Mabel (Adamson) Werner. She graduated from Jackson High School with the class of 1947. She married T. Virgil Van Camp on Aug. 10, 1962. Sadly, he preceded her in death July 31, 2008.

She worked in the audit department for General Motors for 19 years before retiring in December 1987. Elaine’s family meant everything to her; she adored spending time with them. She and Virgil enjoyed restoring their 1917 schoolhouse into their home of present day. They also enjoyed traveling in the family’s motor home. They were members of the Foresters for many years and belonged to the snowmobile and dune buggy club.

Miller; sister, Lila Johnson of Jackson; brothers-in-law, Floyd Wing of Jackson and Sam Conway of Concord; nephews, Pat (RaEAnn) Loafman of Gladwin, Lewis Wing of Jackson and Tom (Ann) Cox of Parma; and nieces, Cindy (Bill) Lackey of Jackson, Mary (Mike) Trudell of Jackson, Lisa Wing of Spring Arbor and Heather (Ken) Friend of Mason.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; two sons, Scott A. and Phillip E. Miller; and two sisters, Janet Wing and Doris Conway.
