Vote No to more debt on our posterity. Ask anyone who can't make their car, home, or credit card payments and they will tell you that when you are in debt up to your eyeballs there is no way to see a better future. Let us teach our kids to pay as they go and to be responsible with not only their own money, but with that of their neighbors as well. If I wanted to put in a pool or tennis court in my front yard - how much success do you think I would have going door to door and demanding that each of my neighbors fork over $25 bucks a peice? Yet because we do this through government force we seem to think that it is okay. The community has a responsibility to educate our children- not to provide luxuries and non-essential things that they will be forced to pay for for years to come. I keep thinking of that commercial with the guy on the lawnmower in his little yard outside his four bedroom house and 2 cars in the garage. He rides around and states everything he has and then say" How did I get all this- I'm in debt up to my eyeballs--Can someone pleeeaase help me? That's what I would like us to avoid. Let's make this the best school district in the country by thinking outside the box and becoming debt free and innovative and not following the same patterns of debt and fiscal irresponsibility that the rest of the nation has been following.

I'd like to encourage everyone to get out and vote today and call at least 5 other people to remind them. My polling place said the voting was heavier than normal so I hope that is good for us. On another note I would appreciate it if whoever stole my signs from the road at M-30 and West Branch Township hall to return them. If you feel this theft gives you an advantage in the election -so be it- at least please put them back after the polls close so I can pick them up tonight. I am appealing to your conscience - if your position is truly right then you should not fear someone else advertising their opinion. Please consider the example you are setting for the children. Thank you.

Political signs in West Branch Township cannot be within 100 feet of the poling place. Also, because of past abuse, the West Branch Township Board ofTrustees reached an agreement with the First United Methodist Church that no signs would be displayed on the adjoining Church and Township property or in the adjoining parking lot. If you would like your signs back please contact the Township Clerk.
