The Immigration Act of 1918, also known as the Alien Anarchists Exclusion Act of 1918, was signed into U.S. law by President Woodrow Wilson on October 16, 1918.

Quilt Walk 2025

Quilts were on display at locations throughout downtown West Branch Oct. 2-4 for the 40th annual Quilt Walk presented by the Rifle River Quilt Guild and West Branch Creative Arts Association. There were 140 quilts in the show this year. Event co-chair Marcia Young said on Friday that although the count was down from previous years, there are advantages to having fewer quilts to display.

Help showcase painted quilt boards

During the West Branch sesquicentennial celebration this past summer, our community came together to create three beautiful 3’ x 3’ quilt board–style canvases. Each piece is a work of art that reflects the spirit and creativity of Ogemaw County as well as the 4-H philosophy of learning by doing.

Divorce…and getting over it
