Girls Soccer handles business with Oscoda, BrethrenOn April 15 and 16, the Ogemaw Heights Girls Soccer team won convincingly over Oscoda and Brethren, claiming both games by an 8-0 margin.Leading the way for Ogemaw Heights was freshman standout, Sage Brewer who totaled two goals against Oscoda and three against Brethren.Harper Munson added two goals on Monday night, and Kiera Danitz, Jada Gilbert, Hadassah Heintz, and Brooklyn Smith each chipped in one apiece.Heintz, Smith, Gilbert, Malorie Miller, and Adysen Kartes each scored a goal in the Falcons contest against Brethren.“We’re constantly working on being aggressive in front of the night and finishing plays,” Falcons Head Coach Tom Zaske said.

A history of conservation

Morrison Farms has been named Conservationist of the Year by the Ogemaw Conservation District.Reid Morrison and Jake Morrison are brothers and the fourth generation of their family to farm in Ogemaw County.

Off to fiery start

The Ogemaw Heights softball team has been lights out at the plate so far this season.In the first three games of the young season, the Falcons have tallied 59 runs in their victories over Houghton Lake and defending Division 3 champion, Standish-Sterling.Guided by a group of seven collected seniors, the brown and gold believe they have the talent to have a special season.“I asked them where they wanted to end up,” Falcon’s Head Coach Dave Mairose said.

Leave a legacy

Throw the records out the window.In the Ogemaw Heights High School baseball program, wins and losses don’t matter, certainly not to Head Coach Chris Powley.“Our program has always been successful when we keep that (wins-losses) on the backburner,” Powley said.
