The Ogemaw County Board of Commissioners commemmorated former commissioner Brenda Simmons for her service at their regular meeting Jan. 9. Simmons was recognized for outstanding service during four terms from 2013 to 2020 and most recently in a two-year term from 2022 to 2024.
When ice and snow make roads difficult to navigate, a countdown sweeps the land. People begin watching and waiting for snow plows, often with rapidly diminishing patience. Then the discussions begin.
In preparation for the upcoming weekend weather, the Ogemaw County Road Commission crew is using anti-icing as a proactive method to prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement.
