LANSING – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has proclaimed October as Michigan Agritourism Month. The month-long celebration recognizes the economic and social benefits of agritourism to our state’s farms and communities and provides an opportunity to celebrate Michigan’s thriving food and agriculture industry.

More than 9,000 Michigan patients have received a life-saving organ transplant in the past 10 years. Each organ donor can save up to eight lives, and each tissue donor can heal an average of 75 people, with the potential of 125.

LETTERS: Get money out of politics

I have never been impressed by money, just a quirk of mine. In my opinion, money is a tool like a key or a knife. Tools are used for good (e.g. chopping carrots) or destruction (e.g. killing). We need some money, of course, but sometimes it’s used to deceive and sell us things we don’t need.
