Plants needed

By Lisa Ashbrook-Comer

The Country Gardener’s Club will once again be participating in the Oscoda County Conservation District tree sale May 10. Club members will host a booth there for their annual plant sale. This sale is the club’s sole means of revenue. We use the money we earn to subsidize a community project. Our past contributions have gone to the beautification of the Oscoda County Fairground entry sign and garden and $500 gift to Mio Ausable Schools agricultural business class, which is led by Jay Jackson. We are committed to giving back to our community and look forward to this year’s project.

We are accepting donations of houseplants and perennials to sell at our booth. Last year we had many generous donors which made the sale a success. If you are thinning out your flower beds or have excess houseplants or cuttings, please consider sharing the extra plants with the club. Donated plants need to be in containers and labeled. We also accept garden-related items in good condition – tools, books, pots, seeds, etc. Please see the contact below if you have something to donate and arrangements will be made to pick up the items.
