The graph shows actual Ogemaw County general fund (operating) revenue compared to the Consumer Price Index (inflation) trend over the past 30 years. As with many Michigan counties, Ogemaw’s revenue trend did not recover from the Great Recession after the bursting of the U.S. housing bubble and the global financial crisis in 2007-2009. The red dot on the right represents the restoration millage rate of 7.2 mils. Revenue generated from the restored rate still falls short of the overall rate of inflation, but provides just enough relief to maintain County government services.
