Ogemaw Heights High School senior Jordan Nelson signed a commitment letter for Northwood University at a well-attended gathering in the school library May 10.

“Jordan has been a great asset to our team,” said OHHS Varsity Softball Coach Dave Mairose. “She is a strong person mentally and physically and a quiet leader. She works hard and is willing to step up any time. She will be a great student athlete. I wish Jordan all the best. She will be missed.”

According to high school sports site MaxPreps.com, Nelson’s Falcons softball career stats include a batting average of 0.214 and a fielding percentage of 0.963.

Northwood University was founded in 1959 and is located in Midland. Northwood University’s softball team won the 2024 Great Midwest Softball Champion title for the first time in the program’s history May 4.
